And today I fished one out that met my requirements exactly. How satisfying do you think that was?

Almost as satisfying as paying 97.9p for a litre of diesel. Of course I couldn't help myself and bought much more than one litre, but at that price who can blame me?
Thank you Costco.

"I'm no longer a Jonah"....or "Statistically they had to win sometime"
If you remember a few blogs back, I told you about a saying from my grandad when you find a coin on the street. Well on Saturday, I was on my way to Old Trafford courtesy of my dad who couldn't attend, when I noticed 2p on the floor. I picked it up, squeezed it in my hand, muttered the saying, and hey presto, two and a bit hours later, United were 2-1 winners over the mighty Swans of Swansea.
I'm sure Mr van Gaal might argue that luck had nothing to do with it, and that hard work, skill, and tactical nous were the reason for the result. We'll see.
The first half was dismal. Utd started brightly, but after about 4 minutes it was back to lumbering about like cattle. Tons of possession, but no drive, unlike Swansea who on the odd occasion they got the ball, hurtled towards our goal like Zulus at Rourke's Drift.
I don't know what he said at half time, or whether it was that we had one fewer mastadon after Jones was subbed, but they definitely improved. Even so, they gave up a soft goal and were lucky when another hit the post and their goalie - GOALIE - headed just wide with the last touch of the game.
Why isn't Martial up front, in the middle, ALL the time? Him, Mata (who I have a man crush on) and Ashley Young, all looked pretty good.
Still, I quite enjoyed it. Found some of the same people there who had been there when I was last a season ticket holder in 2004, were still there and saying the same old bolix. I could be tempted to go again. Watching Gareth Bale speeding down the wing could be quite good.
I took my camera (of course).
Sale Tram Stop.
Why buy a scarf with United AND Swansea on it? Surely one or the other.
Wayne Rooney (left) making his way to the game down Warwick Road..oops, showing my age there, down Sir Matt Busby Way. Carrying a bit of timber as Running Dave would say.
Any one of these three would improve things.
Jesse Lingard making his way through the "Selfie Gap"
...and getting caught
